General Astrology Overview

Hello and welcome to the general overview of

Aries  Season, which is occurring

March 20th through April 19th.

In many ancient and ancestral cultures Aries season, so around March/ April marked the new year.

The Well Lived Life membership was intentionally designed to follow this natural pattern and wisdom. Our ancestors knew spring, not winter, was a time for emergence. All you have to do is look to nature for proof. Spring is a time where the sun returns to us. Where plants and flowers pop through soil.

Sometimes it seems like this change happens over night. That the arrival of Spring happens all at once and with a sense of urgency. Sometimes this energy is reflected in our wellness and social justice practice. We want to be experts overnight. Pop up and be ready to fight and fix all of the things.

But in nature transitions are not sudden and linear. Buds take their time emerging. Tree’s slowly wake up from their winter slumber.

So I believe that our springtime, emergent, and activism practices, mimic this process of slow arrival. Fortunately we can find support in ancestral practices and technologies, like astrology.

So in this overview, I want to provide  just general  guidance around what the stars and planets are doing  and how that can show up in our

Various practices and communities.

So overall this Aries season is action packed. Over the next several months many planets will continue to move into Aries. A sign of fire and bold movements. Let’s get into specific transits.

On March 30th Taurus will be moving into Venus. If you subscribe to the 3rd tier you will hear me talk about this in more depth.  But on March 30th Taurus will be moving into Venus. In traditional astrology Venus is often associated with a goddess warrior/ queen warrior archetype.

This is a figure who  stands up for equality. Does not tolerate oppression or injustice, and is willing to fight. So around March 30th before, during, and after this transit,  maybe a good time to be reflecting what your values are.

Who and what are you wanting to fight for at this time? And how can you do this work sustainably without burning out?

Because again, there's going to be so many planets and Aries, which is about heat and action and fire. We have systems and structures that are intentionally trying to burn us all out to manipulate our nervous systems.  How can we show up to this work sustainably?

How can we center pleasure and joy?

How can we uplift marginalized communities who have been fighting for so long, whose ancestors have been under oppressive systems for so long and experiencing joy?

How can those of us of privilege show up and do the work and create places of rest and of reparations for others?

On April 1st we have a full moon in Libra. And traditionally full moons  are  associated with themes like illumination. So we have the moon lighting up the sky.  Putting a spotlight on certain landscapes,  metaphorically or physically. It's also a time of release,  protection work, and gratitude.  Looking back on the previous month to see what has manifested in your life, what are you grateful for? And this is happening in the sign of Libra. which is associated with the scales,  justice, balance, harmony, and much like Venus because it's Venus ruled by beauty and pleasure. And I think that there's nothing more beautiful or harmonious to a Libra than  equality, than balance.

So I think collectively this full moon is asking us to release outdated concepts and systems that are in opposition to balance and to harmony and to love and to beauty. April 1st can also be a good time to sit in gratitude for the love, the beauty, and the harmony that does exist in our lives, in our families, and our communities.

April 9th, Mercury, the planet of communication, of exchange, of travel, will be moving into hothead Aries. So, communication might be active at this time. We might be receiving a lot of new information, maybe news or updates around certain wars that are occurring at this time, or we might be experiencing conflict in our close personal relationships, particularly maybe sometimes due to a breakdown in communication. So it's just something to be aware of around April 9th,  that we might need to take extra time to breathe, to check in with our bodies before communicating, especially if we can expect conflict, which we usually  should.

Conflict is often just inevitable in a lot of the spaces we enter, especially when it comes to community organizing or activism. So taking time to breathe, to pause, to ask is what I'm about to say harmful or helpful. and being really intentional about what sort of information you're taking in at this time, reducing doom scrolling, seeking out positive things that are happening in the world as much as you do the opposite. Reading books or listening to podcasts that inspire you to action.

The next major transit will be occurring on April 15th and so Mars, planet of  action, war, conflict, friction, going after what you want, will be moving into its home of Aries.

So again, extra fire to conflict, to friction,  action. You may be inspired to do all the things, to launch all the projects, to emerge quickly and all at once.  And I encourage us to slow down.

Seek out helpful and supportive ways to release some of this excess energy. Maybe it's exercise, maybe it's boxing, taking up a martial arts class, or taking a walk around the neighborhood with your friends.

If movement is not always accessible for you, maybe channeling it into art. Or into painting or drawing, doing something with your hands,  maybe even just allowing your mind to wander, creating supportive meditation spaces for you to explore and burn off some energy.

April 17th we have a new moon in Aries. You know this is really all about innovation, starting something new, planting new seeds. Take some time around this, around this period, around this cycle to imagine what type of futures or realities do you want to see  where maybe leadership is more healthy and balanced.

Where people are supported in expressing their authentic selves, where people with power utilize their power to create and support systems and structures that uplift marginalized people.

Maybe there's a reality where there are no marginalized people. Really think about what world you want to see and how you can utilize your specific skills, your specific networks to grow it.

Who do you want to be growing with?

Where do you want your garden to look like?

What resources might you need?

It's a good time to meditate or think about these sorts of things and what next steps you can take to make it a reality.

Last thing in medical astrology, Aries is associated with the head  and everything you know that entails. So your eyes, your ears, your nose, your sinuses. And with all of this Aries energy, might be experiencing headaches,  head cold, sinus issues, maybe even ear aches. It's a really important time to be tending to your head, making sure  you are not straining your eyes, again limiting doom scrolling in my practice.  The head is associated with our Ori.  Which is a personal deity that holds our Ase amongst other things.

A big part of our spiritual hygiene practice is to either cover our head or to do head washes so if that's a part of your ancestral lineage I really encourage you to be doing head washes really frequently throughout Aries season or to cover your head and also just be  really consonant of how your ego might be showing up into spaces,  activism spaces.  Make sure that you're avoiding it's my way or the highway. Be really conscious about any power or privilege that you hold and how you wield it in space.

All right y'all that's the general overview for Aries season. If you have any questions or comments please leave a note on the website or feel free to email me. That should be available on the site as well. Well until next time I hope you have a cool and innovative and emergent Aries season.
